DECEMBER 2010 - ZAPP FAMILY - THANK
YOU FOR CHOOSING SUNSET BAY
Herman Zapp and
his wife
Candelaria
took a well deserved break at Sunset Bay Beach Resort this December
2010. Way
back in 2000 they
decided to follow their dream, jumped in their car in and set off in
search of adventure. After ten years on the road and four children
later it seems nothing is impossible, the family has taken their car
to the ends of the earth, driving to the top of Alaska and even
floating down the Amazon. In 2010 the Zapp family find themselves in
the Philippines in their 1920's Graham Paige wooden spoked car,
follow
their adventures with the links below.
The creative design. art and ambience of the Resort was inspired by
'Spider' (Peter Maxwell Hindes). He lived and worked in Hong Kong for 35
years as a teacher of Art mainly in King George V School, He lived here
in the Philippines from 2001 until his untimely death in 2010. The
resort is a reflection of his artistic endeavours featuring many of his
own creations. and also his personal collection of indigenous arts and
crafts, giving the resort its own unique and distinctive style. We hope
you enjoy the ambience he created and that the spirit in which it was
nurtured will remain with us always.
The Restaurant opens from 6am to 10pm
and the Bar is open until 11pm
Relax in the lush tropical gardens
The garden is a place for total relaxation, offering sun loungers, sun
shades and kubos , whilst for the more active, there
are walks along the beach, exploring the coral reef with its many facets
of sea life and creatures.
The Restaurant
and Bar
Adjacent to the beach, this is wonderfully relaxing, enjoying both the cool sea
breeze and spectacular sunsets. It provides fine dining with optional
seating in private kubos in the gardens.
The menu offers a wide variety of both local and International cusine – this is an
important part of our service, and we are very mindful of the need for
quality at a reasonable price. The beer is always ice cold, and there is a
selection of wines, spirits and soft drinks.
CLASS A RESORT

Sunset
Bay Beach Resort
is situated in the northern
province of La Union - close to San Fernando City and Bauang, overlooking
the Luzon Sea. The Resort is well within reach of San Juan for surfing,
Baguio, Vigan and Laoag as well as the mountain provinces. In its own well
established tropical gardens, this small secluded resort fronts onto a safe
white sandy beach, which is for the most part deserted.
A coral reef extends about
100 yards from the shore, an ideal place for both young and old to explore
the wonders of nature, particularly at low tide.
The sea is crystal clear, ideal for snorkelling. A short walk along the
beach and the reef disappears giving way to open sea ideal for swimming. Boat trips can be arranged
for visiting nearby beaches or fishing. For those who prefer it, an infinity
pool provides cool relaxation with its jacuzzi and waterfall.
We pride ourselves on our friendly personal service and tranquil relaxing
surroundings.
Ocean Deep Scuba Dive Shop is just 10 minutes walk along the
beach
